Enjoy this self-drive tour to discover Denmark and some of its castles. You will reach the northernmost point of Jutland through cities like Aarhus and Kolding and combine nature, culture as well as cities and sea. 

Itinerary

Day 1 Copenhagen Arrival

Pick-up your car from Copenhagen Airport. Copenhagen, is a modern capital but with strong roots in the past. It is welcoming, dynamic, lively and charming, and it is also an ideal base to explore Denmark. Overnight in Copenhagen at Comfort Hotel Vesterbro or similar.

Day 2  Copenhagen - Helsingor - Roskilde 115km

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the castle of Kronborg, also known as Hamlet's castle. You will continue to Hillerod and Frederiksborg Castle, where you will now find the Danish National Museum of History. Continue your journey to reach the city of Roskilde with its famous cathedral, dating from the twelfth century. In addition, you may visit the Viking Ship Museum. Overnight in Roskilde at Comwell Roskilde or similar.

Day 3 Roskilde - Odense 134km

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will cross the longest bridge in Europe, Storebæltbroen, connecting the island of Sealand to Funen. On arrival in Odense, you will discover the city of Hans Christian Andersen, a Danish writer and poet, famous for his fairy tales. Overnight in Odense at Comwell H.C. Andersen or similar.

Day 4 Odense - Aarhus 145km

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will head west and reach a small but nevertheless well- known place in Denmark, Billund. Billund is home of the famous Legoland: a miniature world built entirely of Lego. Then continue north-east to Aarhus, one of the great cities of Jutland where an open-air museum, Den Gamle By, is located. This museum is devoted to culture and customs of local people from 1500 until today. Overnight in Aarhus at Comwell Aarhus or similar.

Day 5 Aarhus - Skagen 226km

Breakfast at the hotel. Then start your journey north to discover Skagen where the land narrows to become a sandbank battered by the waves of two seas. Overnight in Skagen at Color Hotel Skagen or similar.

Day 6 Skagen - Kolding 316km 

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your journey continues south to the town of Kolding. The most important monument of the city is the castle Koldinghus which has been, over the years, a fortress, a royal residence, ruins and a museum. Overnight in Kolding at Hotel Kolding or similar. 

Day 7 Kolding - Copenhagen 232km

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is dedicated to visiting the beautiful capital of Denmark. Copenhagen is often considered as a benchmark amongst the world's best cities for quality of life, despite the cost. With its long history and a wide variety of attractions. Overnight in Copenhagen at Comfort Hotel Vesterbro or similar. 

Day 8 Copenhagen Departure

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Your tour concludes with car drop-off at Copenhagen Airport.
