Itinerary

Day 1 Svolvær Arrival - Svinøya

Taxi transfer from Svolvær airport or harbour to Svinøya Rorbuer, and check in for 3 nights accommodation in a waterfront Rorbu Cabin. All the cabins are well insulated and well equipped with private facilities. Considerable emphasis has been invested in maintaining the authenticity of the cabins. Traditional craftsmanship and timber is kept to give a feeling of how the "rorbu life" was for the fishermen back in the days of oars and sails.

Evening Northern Lights Hunt by minibus. Lofoten consists of several smaller and larger islands that stretch from Norway’s mainland into the Norwegian Sea. The archipelago is located in the middle of the centre of the Northern Lights Oval. Lofoten is lucky to have several local and very skilled Northern Lights guides who are passionate about the Aurora and photography. They know the archipelago well, have a very good understanding of the climatic variations, and seek out the best locations to experience the Northern Lights according to the reported weather conditions.

Day 3 Svinøya: Floating Sauna, Northern Lights Hunt, Børsen Spiseri

Day at leisure for optional activities. Relax in the floating sauna for 1 hour today, located just outside reception with fantastic views towards the harbour of Svolvær and Svolværgeita.

Enjoy a 3 course dinner at Børsen Spiseri, housed in quayside warehouse dating back to 1828. The dishes that are served here are made from Lofoten’s unique and fresh, local ingredients. Stockfish is the specialty, and the main supplier of fresh fish is located 50m from the restaurant door.

Evening Northern Lights Hunt by minibus.
