Itinerary

Day 1 Tromso Arrival

On arrival at Tromso Airport, taxi transfer to your hotel. Located at 69 degrees north - Tromso is 320km above the Arctic Circle. Remainder of the day at leisure. Discover this northern city with its lively cafes, world class seafood restaurants, an active cultural life, exciting nightlife, museums, and captivating art galleries. Meet your tour leader this evening in the hotel lobby this evening for a welcome meeting. Alternatively, meet your tour leader at breakfast tomorrow morning, if you are unable to attend the meeting this evening. Overnight at Clarion The Edge Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Tromso – Narvik: Polar Park

Departure by coach this morning to explore the immaculate landscapes of the Tromso region. Visit Polar Park, the world's northernmost animal park, located halfway between Bardufoss and Bjerkvik. Polar Park is home to Norway's large predators such as bears, wolves, and lynx and wolverine as well as elk, reindeer, musk ox and the arctic fox. Opened in 1994, the park is based on exhibiting animals in their natural surroundings. The landscape around the park is breathtaking, and provides the perfect backdrop for your arctic wildlife experience. Continue to Narvik, the famous port city known for its strategic location during the Second World War. Surrounded with high mountains and deep fjords in the middle of Northern Norway, you will find Narvik located in the heart of the Ofotfjord. Overnight at Scandic Narvik Hotel or similar.

Day 3 Narvik - Svolvær: Sami Reindeer Experience

Departure by coach this morning towards Sortland for a Sami Experience at a Reindeer Farm. You will have an opportunity to meet these majestic docile animals and meet with a reindeer herder. After lunch, continue towards Svolvær through dramatic landscapes and if the weather is right, there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the road. Arrival at the hotel in Svolvær and check-in for two nights stay. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Thon Hotel Lofoten or similar.

Day 4 Svolvær - Harstad: Hunt for the Northern Lights

Departure by coach this morning to explore the Lofoten area. Along the way you'll see white sandy beaches, mountains and lakes, and iconic fishing villages. After exploring Lofoten, you will continue your journey towards Harstad. This evening you will head out on a Northern Lights Hunt with your guide who will do their best to bring you to the perfect location to witness this fantastic phenomenon. With the right weather conditions and some luck, you may see the magical Aurora. Overnight at Scandic Harstad or similar.

Day 5 Harstad - Tromso: City Walk and Optional excursions

Early morning departure at 07:00hrs by fast boat to Tromso, approximately 3hrs journey. Short walk from the pier to hotel. Guided panoramic walk around the city. Afternoon and evening at leisure or choose from one of the optional activities that must be pre-booked. Overnight at Clarion The Edge Hotel or similar.

Optional Northern Lights Cruise from Tromso Harbour 3hrs: sail around the Arctic capital and enjoy the city from the sea. Set sail for the direction where the clearest weather conditions for the night has been predicted - perhaps north towards the areas of Kvaløyvågen or south to Ramfjorden or west along the southern part of Kvaløya island. The captain and crew will work together and keep their eyes out for clear skies or a gap in the cloud layer. With some luck and the right conditions, the Aurora may appear.

Optional evening Snowmobile Safari. 7hrs. Enjoy an unforgettable snowmobile safari through magical snow-covered mountains, dramatic landscapes and scenic valleys. Travel by coach from Tromso to Camp Tamok, a 90 minute scenic bus drive away. Drive in pairs, one driver and one passenger, on each snowmobile with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. Keep a lookout for the Northern Lights! Enjoy a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. Return to to Tromsø by coach.

Optional Aurora Husky Visit 4.15hrs. Travel to an Aurora Camp 30 minutes away from Tromso, where a Northern Lights guide will host you for the evening. Away from the city lights, the sky is dark and well suited for Aurora hunting. Meet the huskies, visit the dog yard and puppy yard, and enjoy a warm dinner.

Day 6 Tromso Departure

Taxi transfer from hotel to Tromso airport. End of arrangements.
