Denmark

Denmark is a country of islands with a proud maritime history. Copenhagen

Visit the Tivoli Gardens the second oldest amusement park in the world, Amalienborg Palace the home of the royal family, City Square, Christiansborg Palace which is located on the small island of Slotsholmen and is home to the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court and Ministry of State (the Danish parliament), Gefion Fountain, the statue of Hans Christian Andersen, old harbour Nyhavn with its beautiful old houses and classy restaurants, the Little Mermaid, the Round Tower, Carlsberg Brewery and Rosenborg Castle a beautiful historic building with its museum containing cultural treasures and the crown jewels. Take a canal cruise around the harbour where you will have the opportunity to see some of the cities other attractions such as the Opera House, Amaliehaven, Christianhavn, Our Saviour’s Church, Gammel Strand, the Old Stock Exchange and much more. Take a day trip from Copenhagen to Frederiksborg Castle, also known as the Museum of National History or Kronborg Castle, located near the town of Helsingor built to protect the Danish interests and for the collection of tolls from ships as they passed through the narrow strait.

Odense

Odense is Denmark’s third largest city and the birth place of Hans Christian Andersen. See the home where he was born in 1805 and the museum which has been dedicated to the famous fairy-tale writer. Visit Odense Cathedral, Odense Castle, City Hall, Brandts Museum with its display of art, photography, film and drawings, the Danish Media Museum, Funen Village Open-Air Museum, Funen Village Military History Museum and the Danish Railway Museum home to Denmark's oldest preserved locomotive (built in 1868). Or take a walk through the Kings Garden or from Monke Mose Gardens you can hire a rowing boat or take a trip up the Odense River.

Aarhus

Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city is located on the east Jutland peninsula and is known for its art and culture. Visit the Old Town, Moesgaard Museum (human evolution and culture), Aarhus City Hall, ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum (art museum) Botanical Gardens, Aarhus Cathedral, Viking Museum, Tivoli Friheden amusement park, Marselisborg Castle the holiday home for the royal family and much more. Walk through Mindeparken, the Marselisborg Memorial Park with its beautiful gardens. Enjoy the many restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops that this city has to offer.
