This tour offers you the pleasures of staying in a small, unique resort next to Lake Jerisjärvi on the edge of the Pallas-Ylläs National Park. Over four days, visit a traditional reindeer farm and a husky farm, enjoy an evening campfire experience, Finnish sauna, National Park hike, hunt for the Aurora Borealis and spend a night in an AuroraHut.
Itinerary
Day 1 Kittilä Arrival
On arrival at Kittilä Airport transfer to your accommodation Hotel Jeris in Muonio - transfer time is approx.1 hour. Remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner at the hotel.
Days 2 - 3 Autumn Activities
The next two days are filled with some amazing autumn fun! Details of the excursions are shown below - the timing for each of these activities will be provided to you at check-in. Meals are served each day at the hotel restaurant.
Reindeer Farm: visit a 100-year-old unique Lappish farmhouse and a reindeer museum. Meet the reindeer, learn about reindeer husbandry today and in the past and test your reindeer herder skills by throwing a lasso.
Arctic Sled Dog Centre: meet the happy teams of huskies. During this 45-minute tour, your guide will introduce you to the day-to-day life and the annual rhythm at the husky farm.
Aurora Campfire: learn about the origin of the Northern Lights and the myths and stories behind the phenomenon around an evening campfire.
National Park Hike: Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is amongst the most popular parks in Finland. Experience its vast fell landscapes and breathe in the pure air on this guided hike.
Arctic Sauna World: a true Finnish sauna experience with four different saunas and an opportunity to plunge into the refreshing, clean waters of Lake Jerisjärvi.
Overnight in AuroraHut: spend a night under the stars in an AuroraHut Glass Igloo located in the vicinity of the hotel.
Day 4 Kittilä Departure
Arrangements end after breakfast with your transfer to Kittilä airport.
